If you're between 12 (in year 8) and 16 and you're a fan of aviation, action and adventure, love sports and getting to know people then you're in the right place. Every year nearly 56,000 air cadets and volunteer staff take part in exciting events all over the U.K. and abroad, and you could be one of them soon.

Due to the progressive training syllabus set by the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, 1163 Squadron have three intakes each year:  January, April, and September.  If you can't wait that long then come along to a parade evening to get a taste of what life as an Air Cadet at 1163 Squadron will be like.  Just contact us in advance so we know you are coming.  We could be doing anything from learning about the R.A.F., to our latest STEM project.  We may not even be there - we may be indoor rock climbing at Colchester or visiting Earls Colne airfield.

We also have open evenings in March and September so you can get a better idea of what we do.

If you're too old to be a cadet but want to get involved then how about being an adult instructor?  You don't need any special skill or military background, all you need is the enthusiasm to help the cadets achieve their true potential.

I just wanted to send a quick message to say Cdt *** had a fantastic day today at RAF Wittering, She enjoyed every minute of it and said it was the best experience in her life.

This is why I wanted to write a quick note to you.

I would like to say a big thank you to you and all the staff that work so hard, give up your time every week and organise all these trips to give the children all these opportunities, without you all this wouldn’t happen. We are very grateful for all you all do. I know Cdt *** is looking forward to the many more activities that are lined up.
